Sorry I haven't blogged! I had a temperature of 104 all week and it was quite brutal! Then I considered not coming back to school as cheerleading has fallen apart and I cannot handel rejection. Oh, and my friends don't give a crap about me really so that makes things a bit harder.

This week I had a fun job though! I got paid a very small amount to do a hair modeling gig (BUT I GOT PAID!). I loved it though! I got some free products and my hair styled by THE curly hair guru of Canada and possibly the world, Johnathn Torch. He made my hair do things I never thought were possible and all with just products!. My hair looks exactly like Naomi from 90210 and Romisa has been freaking about it and calling me that all week. I shall post pictures when I get some for sure.

Last night I went out for dinner at Square one. Dave got a credit card and I havent even spent anything on it! (cheapass wont let me). Loser. Anyways, I must get going. Marketing calls and I'm so behind in it I now have a 30% and a test I have not studied for. Help?

Stone of Destiny

Movies lately, have been lacked originality. When was the last time you saw something that wasn't based on a book? Wasn't a remake? The entertainment industry has been focusing on gimmicky things like the clothing in movies, instead of the actual story to bring viewers out. The Stone of Destiny is a refreshing glance back into the magical world of story telling and leaps into the original and perhaps needed topic of nationalism and how for today's youth, pride for one's Country is a thing almost of the past.

The plot of the movie focuses on Ian Hamilton, a Scottish University students who enlists the help of a group of University students to help him break into Westminster Abbey to retake the Stone of Scone. The students plan to take it back on Christmas Day 1950, as a sign of Scottish pride. The Scottish used this stone for centuries to crown Scottish Monarchs but was taken by England in the 13th Century. For these students, they believe their actions could reawaken a sense of national pride for their Country even if they are not successful.

The movie promises to be entertaining, with fast paced robbery scenes, romance, strong opinions and dedication. What doesn't it have? If anything, I can see this movie having a big impact on the viewers as it is not afraid to ask them how much pride do people, especially the youth have in their countries now?

I've grown up with the notion that I should be embarrassed I'm Canadian when talking to Americans or in America and have always heard people complain about how America's better (shopping, healthcare, hotter guys, better schools, ect). Look at all the fuss Canada's making over Obama, he's going to Ottawa for 6 hours and restaurants all over Canada are making Obama themed menus. Our own Prime Ministers interviews are posted on news websites instead of the actual show because nobody wants to watch him yet tomorrow is full live coverage of Obama going from his limo into Parliament. I get that hes the first Black preident and a likeable one but come on Canada show some interest for yourselves! I don't agree with that opinion that America is better, to have grown up with such negativity regarding such a free, great Country while growing up it makes me wonder; Has public pride for our Country dropped so dramatically because we take what we have for granted or has America's large influence on the world taken away the strong sense of pride Canada once had?

Defiantly one of the most exciting collections of any makeup line in along time, Nars has really brought out some creative colours just when I had lost hope!

Do Over Day

We have so many pointless holidays lately that we were bound to have a new holiday we would actually enjoy come up soon, right? Well ladies and gentlemen I think this is the perfect time to present to you Do Over Day. February 26, 2009 is the first official Do Over Day. Do Over Day is dedicated to reliving your favourite memories and thinking about the the mistakes you've made you wish you could do over.
I thought I would take this opportunity to present to you, my biggest high school mistakes that I would do over.

-Grade 9- In grade nine I joined my schools spirit squad. I ended up basically choreographing some of the routines and teaching everyone basic cheer skills, as I was the only real cheerleader on the team. Sad. Anyways, the co-captain was known as the biggest bitch and I happened to threaten her. A professional dancer with a big ego, she made my life hell for getting along with the actual captain. (Funny how at my old school some school social cliche rules applied?) Our second last game, I happened to be having an anxiety attack while I was PMS-ing. Combine that with the fact I cannot bear to be cold as I become miserable and you get the worst. mix. EVER. So shoving me in the snow with a t-shirt made me cave into putting my sweater on after 20 minuets of hell. The co-captain told me if I didn't take it off I was off the team and the teachers of course just stood there being just as stupid. I got so pissed I walked away with my boyfriend of the week and never looked back. I wish I had stayed for the last game and got my cheerleader sweater though! If I could do it over I would have skipped that day of school!

-Grade 9- I told a senior I had a crush on him and wrote him a song. To this day I still die of embarrassment.

-So I went through a bad break-up and the emo thing was really, really big! But in the end there is just NO excuse for this hair. It was an emo disaster complete with coon tails, which might I add I have ALWAYS hated! How I had the courage to walk around like this last year, I'll never know. There is also the fact I glued it in with hair glue which is the worst thing ever! I spent weeks scraping out glue!

-All ages clubbing, first mistake, second going with only one person- a gay guy and third would
be pretending to pole dance and stepping in a table, flipping it over and spraining my ankle so that I had to sit down for the rest of the night!
-Spending $4000 on a sweet sixteen just to wear a big amazing poofy dress, then buying one that didn't fit properly and only looked alright from far away! That and the fact I wore it for about half and our before I couldn't stand the fact I could not move in it!
- Anyone I dated from grade 9-10. So embarrassed.

-Going to a trailer park, not once but TWICE!

-CUTTING MY HAIR SHORT. WORST THING I EVER DID! HONESTLY! Two years later and I still regret it every day I look in the mirror!

As for something I'd want to re-live I guess I would go with all the high school dances. I only had them in grade 9 as my new school refuses to have them. They were such amazing nights, it makes me so mad that my new school takes all that fun away from high school!
What were your biggest high school mistakes that you would do over? Or what were your favourite moments? Make sure to post them in the comments! The best I'll make sure to post in another blog!
Also make sure to add the facebook page here! Best conversation starter ever ahah!

Barbie loves Stila Collection

Back in 2007, I'm sure you all remeber the famous Barbie Loves Mac collection. The collection was Mac's highest selling to date and generated over 9 million in sales. Barbie is currently celebrating her 50th birthday this year and it also marks the start of Mattels first runway show which Stila acted as the makeup sponsor.

The limited edition line debuted in Sephora but only at Sephora’s Fifth Avenue store in New York, international Sephora locations and at sephora.com. The collection includes four different sets celebrating different Barbies over the years and a seperate talking barbie pallate. As much as I loved the Barbie loves Mac collection, I don't think the Barbie loves Stila collection has as much appeal for some reason. I think its becuase Mac is so much more well known? Who knows. Anyways, only 10,000 sets were made of each so theirs no doubt theyll sell out. Get yours quick!

Mari Yaguchi looks like a Final Fantasy Charater!

Few things make me happier then seeing Morning Musume in the english speaking world. The chance of my favourite ex member Mari Yaguchi ( the woman who got me into Jpop) in it is even better!
I just noticed Kotaku has posted this article about how Mari looks like a Final Fantasy Charater! I sense a cosplay coming up! Combine that with the fact shes finally releasing a solo single, her first single in years and I'm pretty happy!
Sqaure Enix has often been acused of using j-idols as inspiration for their Final Fantasy Charaters. Maybe they really do? Her costume is deffinatly not the hottest of FF but atleast its easy? (if you have patience with bead work)

Real life gossip girl

Bravo's planning their own "real life" version of Gossip Girl about rich kids who go to private school in Manhatten. It makes me mad, becuase I'm not on it, I couldn't be on it, my life is way more interesting and I'm probly going to waste countless hours watching it! Basically there making a Real Housewives version with teenage drama. I hope its actually real teenage drama and not something stupid like the Hills. Still, I think me and my friends would be way more interesting!
Depressing, no?

Shafi (who I sit beside in buisness) would like to add that Gossip Girl is gay and snobby little rich kids can go suck a pickle.

regarding the Chris Brown and Rhianna situation...

I think this just about sums it up in the best way possible. I love that kid.
Apperently there was a MASSIVE "black chick fight" in the cafe today I missed. Maybe I should start going to school more? Its pretty unusal for our school as nothing ever happens here. Rumor has it that the cafe went silent and everyone turned to see around 6 girls come from nowhere and beat the living crap out of each other. After awhile apperntly a student teacher started screaming at each other but that did nothing. Then the vice princepal nailed one of them to the vending machine. All girls were escorted to the office still screaming and swearing at each other.
Nuts.
I heard theres lots of video of the fight going around, wonder if anyone has the nerves to upload it to youtube?
If they do I sense another suspension!
I also happened to bomb my work in marketing yesteday. Boo.

For Jpop Fans

Some of you may wonder why on earth I've posted a picture of Ugly Betty. (Photo from Jezebel.com) Well! See that little doll on her bag? That happens to be a Blythe doll modeled after one my favourite Jpop stars Tomoko Kawase. She's famous for being in the Jpop/rock band The Brillant Green (think of a softer no doubt). She started a solo project a few years ago where she has alter egos, Tommy Febuary6 is her pop/80's style amazing dance music with videos that often feature lots of cheerleaders (yes, this is all I need in a popstar). Then she has her other side Tommy Hevenly which is a total Japanese version of Avril. They even look similar. She often plays with both of her charaters in her videos. Anyways, there totally worth checking out.

One of her first big singles on Tommy Febuary was this amazing song,

Another great Febuary6 song

A heavenly song where you can even see the doll in the picture!

Check her out for sure, she's deffinatly amazing!

Sanrio Watches at Mcdonalds

I'm actually excited to buy a happy meal for the first time in years.

These watches look adoreable and the best part is they have more Sanrio charaters then just hello kitty! Harajuku lovers rejoice.
Sorry about my lack of blogging, school has killed me. I'm not even sure what I've been doing to be honest! Sunday I had a photoshoot downtown with a great photographer. The shots turned out great!(no they were absolutely horrible im lieinggg this is my sub conscious!!!) anyways

SHAFI WROTE THAT LAST PART! (I'm in marketing!). I sit next to him and Alex. There pretty fun to be around although Shafi likes to make fun of me and Alex likes to play ginger gangsters. (He's an actor). (*Shafis comment* an amateur actor). Now theres tension in the air.

AS TO WHAT I WAS SAYING. I'm going to post some of the picures from the shoot tonight when I get home. I posted them on facebook and people went freaking crazy for some reason. My friend said some myspace kid messaged him saying he comments my pictures to much. Crazy! I have a hair modeling casting tomorrow, so wish me luck please. I really want to get that job but I doubt with the condition my hair is that I will. ANYWAYYYSSS. I've been doing alot of crap lately so hopefully things will work out!
Talk to you all sooonnn!!!

Lancomes Photogenic skin illuminating concealer

I was recommended this by a make-up artist and thought i would be exactly what i was looking for. I didn't realize until I got home it was more of a mousse-ish formula. I was expecting something thicker and creamy. For acne all it does is make it look dryer and more noticeable. I figured that it would be better for under eye circles since it was so drying. It works well but defiantly isn't illuminating and I find the creme to powder formula makes under eye wrinkles look more dull and noticeable! I'd for sure say try it out, but I recommend trying it out twice at the store before buying and always moisturize before putting it on!

Macs New Studio Sculpt Foundation

Honestly, I'm not a big fan of MAC's foundations and I know a lot of you feel the same. They often cause breakouts and leave a un-natural cakey coverage or none at all. I am pretty intrigued by there new studio sculpt foundation though. It is supossed to have a medium, matte coverage but have the power of a foundation primer. Apperntly it was tested by MAC makeup artists on runways for three seasons. I'm quite curious to how people will react to this product. I've heard its been comapred to La Mer's utlra dewy foundations which I've been dying to try. It launches Febuary 7th and retails for $28.00($33.50 CDN)

Another Crazy Update

So i got exams over with,
I studied like mad for math and got a 48%, I still passed the course but I'm hella pissed off!
I got decent on Anthropology which is odd as I didn't study at all and it was a really hard course!

With that being said, My best and only friend I hang out with at school got kicked out and I've refused to go the last two days. What a great first impression on my teachers, no?

Saturday I did a shoot with a bunch of girls for Fashion Whore clothing. I can't wait to show you guys the pictures it was a blast!

I also redid my room and am trying to get everything organized. I built a closet like thing with Azra on Friday and it took us four hours. I'll take pictures of my room when I get more sorted but everythings still left in bags! Help!! Theres no where to put all this crap! Ironically I still have like, no clothes. How does this work?!!
