The Hills Premier + After Show at MTV

Posted on 19:26 by Unknown
So, I got invited to the premier of the hills! I might not have watched much of it in the past but it sounded exciting. Plus it included being in the audience of the after show so it was pretty cool. The night was particularly exciting because The Hills star Kristin Cavalari was there! She looked fabulous didn't she?

There were soo many people in line to get a seat in the audience! A couple hundred people at least. Now, I have kinda refused to watch The Hills in the past but I got totally into it. I really didn't want it to end so fast and I'm now hooked. Sadly I think my next week will be spent watching all of the previous episodes of The Hills.

This season has brought up a lot of media controversy already from it's premier. It's going to be interesting to see how much effect Heidi Montage's plastic surgery mess will have in the coming season. You really can't help but feeling sorry for her while watching. As much as I've been annoyed with her idiotic media whoring, I truly want her to get better. I think a lot of people watching feel the same. On a more positive note, I'm terribly excited to see Spencer act like the crazy nut he is! Seriously, have you seen this guys twitter? He starts fights with random celebs all the time. I think hes a troll.

How friggen awesome is host Jessi's dress? She said it was by Opening Ceremony. I want it but I think its probably best suited to her amazing red hair. These host's totally need more credit, I have NO clue how they can hear things over the crowd's loud cheering. The audience was hilarious! Besides the boo-ing at Heidi, some interesting individuals kept shouting out crazy comments. I can't remember some of the best but someone asked Jessi and then Kirstin to sleep with him. Someone also screamed something about how he needed makeup for his tranny nights out or something along that line. SO much fun. It was like being in a really, really awesome immature highschool class where everyone is acting a fool. Yes, this is my idea of a good time.

I also was super thrilled to make a new friend who happens to be super awesome! Fatima is my new home girl. I love meeting new people. It was my goal of the night and I succeeded.

So I learned two things that night! 1. I need to pick out clothes before doing my hair or I will end up looking like a fool while freezing downtown and 2. The Hills really is addictive.

Now the question is.. are you watching this season?

Cheerleading Worlds and The Future Of Cheer Fashion

Posted on 14:15 by Unknown

This week was one of the most exciting weeks for a cheerleader. The olympics of cheerleading - Cheerleading Worlds took place. First there is ICU worlds, this is a fairly new competition. A Country's best athletes get together and make a team or two and send them to compete here! Right after is ISAF Worlds. ISAF is for allstar teams from all over the world to send there best teams to compete. It's amazing to watch the routines from these competitions.

Luckily you can watch all of the ICU worlds online for free on there website! ICU Worlds Videos. I loved Team Canada All Girl's Pyramid. Its so fun seeing countrys you didn't know were big on cheerleading kick ass.

Finding ISAF Cheer videos is a little harder. You can subscribe to their media player for $20-30.00 a year. I've previously done it but it sucks having to pay. Most of them eventually end up on youtube, just not always in the best quality.

ISAF always brings up a somewhat controversial topic among the cheer world. Fashion is something that can be hard to talk about in this sport. Mainly because we want to be taken seriously as athletes. On the other hand one of cheerleading's appeals is its flashiness. A great uniform can make a team standout. Even if it is looked down upon, uniform's can be a big influence on what team you join. When talking with cheer friends, uniforms are usually always debated.

Cheer fashion has been evolving rapidly in the last few years. ISAF is the ideal place to show off a uniform. It may not affect a score but a good uniform can leave a strong impression on the audience and cheer world. The most elite teams are known for taking risks in their uniforms. At first it was small changes. A little metallic trim, shorter skirts, bigger bows. Then it got a little crazier, off shoulder tops, skin cutouts, full metallic, zebra print. Not every team is like this though. Here in Canada team's have stayed rather traditional. Most teams have crop tops with solid colors. I have a feeling things may be getting flashier this season though.

The part fashion plays may be getting even more influential in terms of cheer. Top Gun Allstars is known as one of the best if not the best All Star team in Cheerleading. They recently teamed up with Olympic athlete Shawn Johnson to create a line of practice gear and Cheer Uniforms called GK. The line is about as flashy as you can get. Gone are the pleated skirts, replaced with uniforms that are a cross between dance and gymnastics wear.

(Designs by GK)

When Top Gun took the floor this week they started a number of conversations. Their uniforms are different from anything ever seen in All Star Cheerleading. They looked more like NFL cheerleaders. The opinions so far haven't been so positive. Can this be called a cheerleading uniform? If so what now seperates cheerleading uniforms from dance costumes. Should uniforms be designed for the best athletic performance or are they now accepted as a performance element? The socks/boots seem like they would cause some difficulty stunting.

Top Gun also debuted a different uniform not even a month ago at NCA Nationals. I'm not sure if it was the same team from the gym but both uniforms were made by the GK line. This uniform is more of a representation of the current stylish all star team. Top Gun went a bit above and beyond here with a necklace accessory. If this is in fact another different uniform then Top Gun is really using its athletes as models.

Where is the future of cheer fashion going? Are uniforms going to look more like gymnastic/dance costumes? Or NFL cheerleaders? Are pleated skirts becoming completely irrelevant? And how much of a part is fashion going to play in terms of popular cheer gyms?

Most amazing natural self tanner - Vichy Bronzing Milk

Posted on 13:38 by Unknown

I love being pale for about 3/4 of the year. Then around the end of winter I usually decide I need to be a super fit tanned cheerleader chick. Or something. I don't know. Anyways, I've had some pretty bad experiences with self tanners. Some over the counter ones can be disastrous. There have been a few times where I've convinced myself the only way I can get a hot tanned look is by actually tanning. Alot. I'm too lazy and don't want cancer though so that idea is out. Spray tans also look hideous on just about everyone. I used to get them for cheer competitions and I have some pretty brutal photos from them! Not to mention its way to expensive to get them on a regular basis.

Last month I was looking in shoppers for some sort of promising self tanner. I didn't want to spent a lot of money but I shelled out around $25.00 ish dollars on Vichy's Bronzing Milk. It is amazing! You start noticing color within an hour which is great. The best part though, is how amazing the color is. It really looks like a natural tan! It's very buildable so you can control the color. I loaded up on the stuff and I looked like I had been living on some sunny island for a month. It's also amazingly moisturizing. It makes my skin softer then anything I've ever tried. My face can't deal with any moisturizer without breaking out so I was terrified to use this on my face. It didn't break me out at all though! My face feels so soft too! I can't explain how much I love it! If your looking to get bronzed up for the summer you HAVE to try this stuff! The only bad thing about it is I find I use a lot of it and its a fairly small bottle. I think maybe this is because I don't usually use any type of moisturizer so my skin just eats it up too fast. I think I'm going to try and mix it with the dove self tanner or a regular moisturizer to get more use out of the product.

Good
- AMAZING natural color
- Self tanner smell isn't overbearing
- Very moisturizing
- Great for sensitive and acne prone skin
- Great for Face use

Not So Great
-Not too much product for the price

Overall: BUY IT! ITS AMAZING.

Have you tried any self tanners? What have your experiences been with them?

Disclaimer: This product was bought by me!

Another great Japanese singer I love is Jasmine. Shes fairly new to the scene and has AMAZING ballads and style. Seriously I hate slow songs usually but this girl makes me like them!

Maybelline Eyestudio Collection

Posted on 18:42 by Unknown
So Maybelline and Matchstick decided to make up for every terrible Birthday and Christmas I've ever had. They sent me their entire EyeStudio line! I seriously was so excited to try these shadows. I have to make looks with the products so I'll be posting them all on here! Eventually they will be on the Maybelline New York Canada's facebook page. Please vote for me when you see me!
HOW CUTE IS THIS MAKEUP CASE?! I love how it looks on my makeup desk.

I'm a huge fan of the shadows! They remind me so much of the Kate Kanebo and other Japanese eyeshadows. I'm thrilled to find that some of these palletes have the perfect bright white, something I'm always looking for. (Gyaru's you know what I mean!)

The gel liners are totally exciting as well. They work just as great as bobby brown or mac's. They are also easier to buy and half the price! They take a little time to get used to but they are the best for a perfect winged out liner look.

I have only tried out the volume mascara so far but I like it!

SHADOW! These pallets are honestly my new life. They are really pigmented and affordable. You wont feel bad if you buy a color you wont use everyday. They do have some great everyday colors though as well!
I like how on the back they show you a look to do with your pallet.

These shadows are also great! I've never been a huge fan of the whole baked shadows but I don't mind some of these. Its fun to experiment with a different shadow texture.

Can't wait to try these all out!

Me+New Makeup+Deco+Random

Posted on 12:04 by Unknown
Random posts are always good. Well sometimes! Here I am rocking my Jeremy Scott x Adidas dress I have yet to wear in public. I think I'm going to put it on ebay as I doubt I'll get around to wearing it :(

Here is some makeup I've picked up lately.

I got this Lise Waiter sparkle liner to play with! Mostly I put it right under the corner of my eye. I like it but I think the $18.00 ish dollars I paid for it was a bit excessive. As the quality of drugstore makeup is getting better I don't really want to pay alot for makeup that you wont use much.
I'm also really liking my new mac blush. I know these were really popular. I just wanted a blush that wasn't light pink! I also usually like darker colors on my face for some reason. Anyways this is good to change up my look!

Here is a deco mirror I made! Pretty random.

Finally here is a photo from a concert I was at recently! The concert sucked but luckily I got this pretty photo from it!

Cheap and Effective Blow Dryer Review : Solutions by Vidal Sassoon smoothing dryer

Posted on 17:13 by Unknown

My hair is majorly high maintenance. God knows I've spent thousands on good products and I can't live without my GHD or Chi straighteners. Surprisingly one thing I've never invested on was a good blow dryer. For the longest time I tried to avoid blow drying, saving myself from some added damage. I've learned that my course hair needs the added smoothing a hair dryer provides. Especially for bangs!

I had just been using my mothers ten year old hair dryer to get the job done. Its life was near its end and totally crapped out when my extensions got caught in the fan. (FAIL). So I decided I would go to shoppers drug mart and pick a new one up. I wasn't hoping for much as I have experienced how bad drugstore styling tools have been in the past. Being poor and figuring anything will do the job I spent $39.99 on a Solutions By Vidal Sassoon dryer. They had about 4 different solutions models, specializing in things like smoothing course hair and blow drying thin hair. I picked up the smoothing one.

I was so surprised at how much of a difference it made in blow drying! Not only is it faster at drying time, I noticed a big difference in the smoothing ability. I also liked the controls on the dryer. The extra heat and cooling option are easy to press while styling. Overall it was a great buy! I'm just a bit shocked by their lack of online presence. When searching for the dryers online I came up with nothing.

My Latest Nails..

Posted on 17:05 by Unknown
Here are my latest attempt at some cute nails! I went to a regular nail salon and got pink nails and just added the jems and large star myself. Seriously though, getting that star to stay has been hell. I've gone through like four of them! I tried nail glue which didn't work for long and then deco glue. Deco glue held a bit better but it still came off. Any better ideas? Should I just go for an epoxy glue next time?

Kumikki x Mickey and Minnie JSG

Posted on 14:12 by Unknown
I love Japanese fashion brand JSG and thought it they did an amazing job with the promo pics for their Mickey and Minnie line. Popular Popteen model Kumikki should try new styles more often! I think she looks great with some bold colors instead of her usual pastel style.

This photo was my favorite! I love the accessories and her hair looks soo good!
This was kinda cool too. I think shes wearing a half wig here. Japanese girls wear more fake hair then the Real Housewives of Atlanta.

These tops were cute. Not really my style but I'm sure a lot of gals will love them.
I really think these dresses were unflattering. The black one would have been so cute as a top! If you buy it cut it up aha! Long dresses are so hard to pull off and these are just unflattering.

Hidden Gem : Freeman Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask

Posted on 19:36 by Unknown
I have terribly stubborn skin and it hates almost everything I put on it. I avoid a lot of skincare for this reason. I have come across a mask I think is HG material for sure. Freeman's feeling beautiful line is an often unnoticed gem lying in the isles of Wal-mart. I am completely in love with the Avocado and Oatmeal clay mask. I smile when I see it!

From the website...

This rich clay mask, with added Vitamin E, draws out excess oils and dirt, purging clogged pores, leaving your skin clean and soft.

Usage:
Apply mask to face and neck, avoiding contact with eyes. Let dry and rinse with warm water.

Recommend:
Use at least twice a week.

Available sizes:
6 fl. oz.

Price: $3.99

The only thing I can really say it that it does exactly what it says it will! After using this my face feels clean and soft. Surprising for a clay mask. The price is also amazing, $3.99 for a 6 fl. oz tube is unheard of in face masks! I love how I can put this on, relax then wash it off and feel beautiful and clean! Great for girls nights. It hasn't caused me any breakouts that I have noticed or can contribute to it. My skin has been looking a bit clearer and it defiantly feels alot softer. You can buy this at your local Wal-mart or online on the freeman site. Freeman you might make me love my skin!

Has anyone else tried any of their products? Are freemans other lines as good as their feeling beautiful line?
