Following your heart; Where has it gone?

Posted on 19:28 by Unknown

Someone great once said, listen to your heart. Eventually, everyone else adapted that quote and made their own versions of it, my generation however doesn't exactly know how to follow it.

Growing up with the internet has made my generation a group of emotional wrecks. Im-ing, texting and blogging all give us emotional outlets to get caught up in situations which allow us to express and create feelings we wouldn't have said or felt if we talked face to face. Not to mention emo's found their way to main stream culture making it the "cool' thing to be dramatically depressed. Heartfelt emails, im-ing until four in the morning, crying and lurking the pages of ones we once loved have come like second nature to us. The real question I'm now wondering is what effect has this had on the all the relationships were in. One of the good things has been were able to get to know people in quicker time and talk more frequently without excuses. Im-ing has the ability to bring up any topic in a matter of seconds, share our favorite music with one another and ask personal things that would be harder to do when confronted with one another. The other bonus is the element of "fantasy" it has created. It is so easy to type poetic feelings and songs of love to one another. It is also easier to fight about any little feeling or problem you have. I could go on for a lot longer about all the affects this has had on young adults love lives but the main question I've been pondering is have most of us lost sight of the big picture?

I find so many of us have these quotes about following our hearts, staying true to ourselves and going after our dreams slathered all over our facebook's and myspaces. So much of this seems like a novelty to me, most people are scared to put themselves out in the world as anything other then objects of aesthetic worship such as myspace stars or musicans. Even I can admit to having a fear of what impact confronting my deepest emotions could have. This blog alone has put me in a position where my feelings are made fun of and laughed at by ex’s and their friends daily. I want so badly to follow my heart and tell people how I truly feel but when after so long all it ever brings me is embarrassment, emptiness and breakdowns I'm a lot more cautious. I’ve toned down a lot of my feelings and find myself trying my hardest to feel numb and try and fit in. My best friends however see behind that, I love them for it but I hate so much how I burden them with what I have to keep inside myself.

What happened to the days when telling a person you loved them via love letter or in person it MEANT something. I feel like the emails I've sent with my feelings have been disregarded, deleted and burnt. Sent to the bottomless hell of internet trash talking where I and anyone else who's emails of affection that have gone unanswered remain. Are the letters we send to one another taken seriously by the recipient? Can an email really change the opinion of someone you love that is too caught up with the drama to even consider the fact they might- just MAYBE love you back? I know that I personally have too much hope in situations like this but my friends and hundreds of other people out their ask the same questions when they send their last hope in an email.

Last resort emails have worked, one example being Big in the Sex and the City Movie sending emails to Carrie. This however, didn't work until she took a huge step back and saw the big picture. She had to let go of her grudge for the wedding not working out and see that she truly loved him and couldn't be happy without him. Sadly, I find that us teenagers get to caught up- caught up in the embarrassment of what our friends would think; after shit talking the said love one for so long and it ends up hindering our motivation to see the truth in how we really feel. What I have found frustrating and admit to doing all the time is how we seem to anonymously talk to the person we're in love with or hurt by indirectly; through our msn names and facebook status messages. Most often in the expression of lyrics we relate to. Does this talking to air strengthen our love for the ones with miss and fuel our hate towards the ones who have hurt us? Also, when you find out the other person is writing things, so obviously about you; good or bad. Doesn’t that mean they still have feelings for you? You wouldn’t do that about someone you didn’t care about and obviously if your shoving something like that into the public deep down in your heart you WANT them to see the message, right?

With every last decision, conversation and feeling of ours being exposed on the internet, I don't think most of us have the ability to follow our hearts anymore. I may not care what people think about me to a certain extent but when I know how the person I like will react I've just pretty much given up. I think that the relationships where the two people are madly in love are ones you have to fight for. If both people aren't strong enough to see the big picture and follow what is truly in their hearts- behind all the pride, gossip and "what people would say if their relationship status on facebook changed to that certain person" then there’s just no hope. There is going to be a lot of unhappy people walking around with the words what if stuck in their mind in ten years for sure. In a way, we've been brainwashed into tragedy loving, stubborn idiots who are completely incapable of being truly happy. It's just so frustrating when you know there is someone out there who cares enough to write about how you hurt them in their msn name but no amount of emails could explain or change the outcome of the hell and drama you both fell into.

R.I.P following your heart.

I've been reviewed!!

Posted on 08:32 by Unknown
I was thrilled to check my inbox today to see that my blog had been reviewed (thankfully, in a good light). My blog was featured on Canadian Blog Friends. Canada Blog Friends is a blog that features Canadian Bloggers. Pretty cool I'm on it, No? Anyways, I laughed pretty hard reading the review. Although I realize it is inevatible to ignore my spelling mistakes on here atleast the review put them in a positive light! Another funny thing was how they mentioned I failed English. This however I found hilarous.

"She mentions meeting boys, and going on dates, and she likes to document creeps,"

This is just deffinatly something you guys gotta check out. Reading this, I surpisingly felt like I acomplished something by writing on this blog!! Pretty good feeling I gotta say.
P.S im only 16 and going into grade 11 now!

Fall Trend Must Try; Black Lipgloss

Posted on 17:12 by Unknown

Fall's major trend is dark bold colours, so it only makes sense that dark lipgloss is the new "it" look. Mac's cult of cherry collection features alot of darker purple's with a almost unnoticable red tint to them. Although there very dramatic there alot more wearable then alot of collections out this fall. Lancome and Yves Saint Laurent bodly introduced black lip glosses, surprisingly Lancome's is more expensive at $40 titled Piha Black. It's also said to be really blendable, which is a good thing as I'm sure most people won't be bold enough to go out in soild black. Lancome's gloss is stated to come out in November and already has wait lists avalible. Yves Saint Laurent's gloss was pimped all over the runways. It has no sparkle and can be preorded for $28 from their website. I;m pretty sure theirs will be out sometime next month. Yves Saint Laurent in Pur Black.
Yves Saint Laurent on the runway. I can see Rhianna rocking this look.
Lancomes gloss inPhia Black.

So now the real question is will you try this look?

I preorded the Yves Saint Laurent one but I think I would rather try the Lancome one becuase it seems to have sparkles in it.

Shopping, Stress and Sneaking into other movie theaters

Posted on 22:03 by Unknown
*Sigh*, I am a walking stress machine.
It's quite terrible. So much back to school things to do and clothing to buy. I managed to put myself about 200 in debut today. That's what happens when your friend with a credit card lets you put stuff on there! Then I totally got screwed over by online shopping. No one told me there was a weird tax they make you pay when you pick the item up. ARGHH WTF.

I'm also quite frustrated with my situation with my parents but whatever, most famous people have screwed up parents so I suppose that's a good sign right?

Today I hung out with Jessica and Ian, we were supossed to go to Wonderland but didn't make it because of the rain. The good (and i suppose bad for me) part was we ended up at Vaughn Mills. Ian found his favourite jean brand all hafe off and spent $500 on them as I drooled in envy. Me and Jess spent the day trying on crazy clubbing tops and cute outfits which we rang up on Ian's card. It was alot of fun!

On an annoying note, we went to see a movie after the mall. I basically had my stress limit blow up when I was forced to see Tropic Thunder. I just could NOT sit through that movie today. Basically, I went wandering and ended up in the theater next door. This specific movie however, was one I saw last week with Marie and it almost killed me. I just stood in the blocked off part watching the screen and withing two minuets I realized I was crying. After 10 minuets i pulled myself together enough to go sit through another ten minuets of Tropic Thunder. Then I once again ended up in the next theater, mezmoried by the screen with every thought I shouldn't have been thinking running through my mind. By this point I was bawling my brains out trying not to make a sound. Right as the movie ended my contact fell out so i had to shove it back in my eye and get the hell out of there before anyone saw me. Then I just kinda sat by the doors in Tropic Thunder until Jess found me and I felt like a total loser (like always). I mean, I'm so worried about Jess right now. Her and her boyfriend are having a rough time right now and the last thing I want is for her to have to worry about me. Honestly, seeing her on the phone sad taking to him friggen kills me. It hurts as much as if it was my boyfriend bitching me out on the phone. Jeeze, having true best friends can be pretty painful can't it?

But anyways, I'm going to try to go to sleep and not think about cheerleading, the debut I'm in, my plans for tomorrow or the what if's or why can't we that have beaten my heart up. Goodnight loves. Things will just have to work out; for all of us because I refuse to let it go any other way!

Posted on 21:04 by Unknown
I'm starving, wanting to use my cellphone (which is dead with no working charger) and I'm quite tired and cold so this will probly be a terrible entry!!
Anyways, today I went to Wonderland for the seckond time this year with Jessica, Ian and Rhonda. It was a blast, me and Rhonda kept singing The Pettit Project songs when we got scared (and screamed a persons name who we find hilarious). We also kept making jokes about how Ian was the "old guy" with a bunch of young girls. I'm too tired to blog but one of the funniest moment's from today was when i was changing my tops (with my bikini top on under) and these three guys walking buy were staring so hard they walked right into the bushes!!! Ian said "I don't even have to look to know Keely's changing, you can tell by the amount of guys staring and walking into things". Yeah, sorry. Just totally one of my favourite quotes now lmao! I also played Parapara Dancing which totally put me into a j-pop mood and had me dancing around for the rest of the day. On the car ride home that "if you wanna go and take a ride with me" song came on and we went pretty crazy and gangsta, so that was deffinatly amazing.
Must. Sleep.
Details tomorrow.

last days of summer fun!

Posted on 21:58 by Unknown

(Yes, I'm posting more photoshoot pics My blog needs visual love :)!)

Okay, so im going to try to make this short but epic. Me and Marie finally ended up at Wonderland. It was fun but we only made it on one water slide ride and like 5 friggen rides. Terrible line ups. I have to go back before summers over though for sure. The best part of the day was when we were in line for a ride and someone threw up on it. Shortly after they annonced it was "closed for mechanical difficulties" then some dude yelled out "BUUUUUUULLLLLLLL SHITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT".
It was amazing, I'm going to do that more often now.

Today me and Marie went to Niagara falls though. We went to an indoor water park and had a blast. We were kinda in shock we never really heard about it before because it was so fun. I was happy then had a outdoor patio to tan on too. We sadly left about 5 and didn't have time to lurk the shops or other cool stuff but we were broke anyways. Then we went and saw the movie the rocker. It nearly killed me for many dramatic reasons lmao! I can honestly say Marie is one person I can spend the day with and actusally have the best time ever and not be like "AHWEE I WISH A GUY WAS HERE!". I love you Marie and our crazy, crazy ways. Who else could I run around screaming PELICANS, and DOMO with for hours. Okay, well knowing my friends a few but then we run around screaming like anime charaters and were cool.

On a side note, I've offically stoped giving a crap about how I look. Like, Ive been around water so much in the last week I'm just walking around with my naturally curley afro and no make-up. I really don't know what it is. Maybe Its a I just feel comfortable enough to truly be myself, even if I look terrible becuase they still will love me kinda thing? I was pretty bummed today I'm not gonna lie, Marie made it better though so its cool. I'm goign to die when she goes to New York. Shes like my current feeding tube AND I GET REALLY UPSET WHEN I'M HUNGRY!

Anyways. I'm not making sense becuase I'm mad circa tickets sold out before I bought them. I did however become obessed with a song by Demi Levato, who I kinda had a huge grudge against but WHATEVER. She proved me wrong! (or atleast this song did). I was a little mad she stole No Doubts album cover but atleast it means she has good taste right?
LISTEN AND LOVE IT LIKE I LOVE IT!

Demi Levato's New Music Video !

Look up the lyrics for sure, its about getting back together with an ex. I love them!

Photoshoots.

Posted on 13:23 by Unknown
Yesterday I finally realized how much of my summer I wasted. I hate how i have such an energy problem and how I just sleep hafe my life away. I met this photographer Damien downtown Burlington yesterday by the lake. We took some cool shots, they were alot different from my normal stuff. He said he wanted to capture the model part in me or something like that. I had this brillant idea of jumping into lake Ontario for some cool shots. It was really hard to get into the water though, besides the fact Damien had to save me from falling on the rocks 30 times, this GANGSTAAA gang of ducks was NOT happy we were on there turf. I have this thing called the duck curse where I think whenever I date a guy a sign of ducks around us ruins our realtionship. Yea I know, I'm sketchy. These two swans were the leader of there gang and like, slowly krept up towards us. Needless to say we ran to the other side of the lake, where eventually the gangsta swans kicked us out of. Although it was really different from my normal stuff I really liked how some of the images turned out. Were shooting again soon and I'm excited about that. I also got the picutres from the shoot I did downtown with Nichole in some of the Toxic Vision Clothes.

Here's a shot from the shoot with Nichole. I'll post more and some of the ones with Damien later

Where to get Japanese / Asain clothing online

Posted on 09:37 by Unknown
Okay so, with my back to school online shopping spree going on, I decided I'd do something for your inner harajuku lovers and Lolitas. For those of you brave enough to wear full Lolita attire to school (on a normal day) I totally sulute you.

Harajuku / Fruits / Normal Asain Clothes

Asiajam.com -They have some really cute things on here, some of its really cheesy but if you search around enough you'll find some killer things to really set your wardrobe apart from others. It's totally like China Town online.

Onatoko - More Urban style asain clothes. Totally online China Town. As a bonus sells cell phone charms and asain makeup.

Planet Walrus Ebay Store - Coloful Asain clothes and with a name like that need I say more?

Antidote Clothing - Pretty much a mix of everything.. Has Lolita, Jrock and Street Fashion Inspired things.

Gothic Lolita

Maruione - Shocked the crap out of me. I felt like i was in a dream when I came to this webstores homepage and found the words Angelic Pretty (I died inside), Moi Meme Moitie, Black Peace Now, Sexy Dynamite London, Super Lovers and Victorian Maiden. I realised it was all a Gothic Lolita Tradgedy when I saw the prices though... I NEED an Angelic Pretty dress but how the hell can I afford it!! Oh, I cant. Anyways. I insist you listen to my song Gothic Lolita Tradgedy while on this page becuase you will feel my pain. Click here.

Import Store - Not much of a selection but has some decent, cheap Lolita outfits. I've heard the qualitys okay too.

Cosmates - Known for its cheaper Lolita and cosplay costumes. Totally worth checking out if your a Lolita on a budget. Has a great selection

Angelic Pretty - One of Japans cutest Lolita labels has an english website
